Greetings friends! This is a much-loved poem of mine by Muslih-uddin Sadi - “If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft, And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left, Sell one and from the dole, Buy Hyacinths to feed the soul” I love that it stresses the necessity of beauty in our lives no matter what. This is both fundamental and universal. I guess, in this light, you could think of Faustina’s as a flower shop!! Wishing you beautiful things, Jody.

I'd like to introduce you to...

Susan Niholas Gephart. A full-time artist whose work has been found at Faustina’s for close to 10 years, but Susan has been painting these award-winning landscapes “plein-air” for over 30 years. She has been exhibited here in several one person shows over the years. Susan is also the founder, organizer, and primary instructor at Hameau Farm Studio Artist Retreat held each May and October. May 14-19 is the 13th Annual May Retreat held in the beautiful “Big Valley” of Central PA. It is a great place for artists to share, create, learn and have fun! Go to her website: snicholasart.com, for pre-registration and more information.

Look what came in...

I love my job! Several weeks ago, an older gentleman walked in with a tattered envelope, dumped the contents onto the table and asked “Can you do anything with these? I want to give them to my son”. He proceeded to share memories and stories of his days as a rifleman in both the Korean War and WWII. Great stories. What resulted was a beautiful and completely custom shadowbox. Rather than passing down an old tattered and stuffed envelope, he’ll be able to give his son something so special. I never know what will come in through that door - what do you have?

This is cool!

Arranging and hanging your artwork can be an art in itself. Think outside the box when looking to hang your framed pictures. The frame-to-frame column, while accentuating the height of the wall, also creates drama that demands your attention!

Worth checking out...

First Fridays in Downtown Lewisburg are beginning May 4 with a Gallery Walk. Faustina’s will be participating by being open until 8PM and hosting Patricia Brandt. Please plan on coming down to Market Street , having some fun and seeing some of the most gorgeous equestrian art anywhere!
